Although founded in 2005, CJ Hester Inc is the culmination of over 30 years of service and dedication to the insurance industry, beginning in 1976 in Winter Haven, Florida, when Cathy J. Hester began her insurance career working for a small independent agency. It was a one-woman office, and Cathy learned the basics of policy coverage, underwriting and claims. She took this knowledge to Mobile, Alabama in 1982, where she again worked for an independent insurance agency for a year before leaving to pursue her current vocation as an insurance adjuster.

In 1983 Cathy began working for Green, Hastings & Harbin Inc. This independent adjusting company had the UAC/Continental franchise. Cathy's initial training as a multi line adjuster afforded her the opportunity to work on CAT teams and become the Third-Party Administrator for Mobile Infirmary Medical Center, handling its worker's compensation claims, an account she handled for 20 years, as well as handling multi line claims for Continental Insurance Company and other insurance companies, many of which Cathy still services today.

In 1987 Green, Hastings & Harbin, Inc. was sold to Gay & Taylor, Inc. a national independent adjusting company. Cathy continued her career with Gay & Taylor, Inc. and became Assistant Branch Manager, before leaving Gay & Taylor in 1995 to partner Green & Hester, Inc., which mirrored the philosophy of the previous companies Cathy worked for:

During her adjusting career Cathy has continued to handle claims. Part of her passion for the business is actually working the claims, something she sees herself always continuing to do.

Seeing a need for growth and to keep the momentum moving in a positive direction, for the good of her clients, Cathy started CJ Hester Inc, a company that is an extension of not only her previous employers but of her previous company. The philosophy and dedication of CJ Hester Inc to provide exceptional claim service to the industry is second to none. Today Cathy serves as CEO of CJ Hester Inc and operates ten offices, six in Alabama, three in Mississippi and one in Louisiana (Mobile, Dothan, Montgomery, Birmingham, Huntsville, Florence, Gulfport/Biloxi, Jackson, Tupelo and Bogalusa) with extended service areas in the Florida Panhandle, SW Georgia and Southern Louisiana. Cathy works right along side the other adjusters of CJ Hester Inc and continues to do what she loves with the same enthusiasm and dedication to the claims industry she has had for over 30 years.
